Article 15
New Section (Section 17)
To establish maximum efficiency in covering open para transit work, management may assign fixed
route operators with recent para transit experience and training to para transit. This shall only happen
after overtime has been offered to para transit operators and before the work is made available to
inspectors or acting inspectors.
To implement this the following steps will be taken:
1. All current fixed -route operators with Everett para transit experience will be asked if they
are interested in doing para transit work as needed.
2. These operators will be provided refresher para transit training.
3. Those who complete training will be placed on a separate seniority list based on their
original hire date with Everett Transit.
4. When the Scheduling Inspector needs to fill para transit work, they will:
• Offer it to existing para transit extra -board operators and regular operators on the
overtime list.
• Then, if no one is available or willing to take the work, the Scheduling Inspector will
offer the work to fixed route operators who have been trained to drive paratransit and
are on the list.
• Then, if it remains unfilled, they will offer it to inspectors and then acting inspectors.
5. Employees filling para transit work shall be paid their regular wage, regardless of the job
class they are filling.
IV: Effective Date:
These changes will go into effect the first day of the pay period following ratification of this
agreement.
V: Duration:
This MOU shall be in effect until a successor agreement has been negotiated and approved by
both parties.
