MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />Between City of Everett <br />And <br />Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) — Division #883 <br />I. PURPOSE: <br />This Memorandum of Understanding outlines the mutual understanding between the parties <br />regarding changes to Article 15 of the current ATU collective bargaining agreement. <br />II. SCOPE: <br />This agreement applies to ATU Fixed Route and Para Transit operators and Inspectors. <br />III. AGREEMENT: <br />WHEREAS, the ATU collective bargaining agreement for 2022-2024 with the City is negotiated. To <br />remain competitive in recruitment and employee retention, and to establish flexibility in covering open <br />para transit work, the parties agree to the changes outlined below in Article 15 in the ATU contract. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree to the following changes to Article 15 <br />Section 5: <br />Fixed Route 2023 Operator Hourly Rate Para Transit Operator 2023 Hourly Rate <br />Training Wage $27.00 $24.30 <br />After training through 6 months: $28.84 $25.96 <br />7-12 months: $30.83 $27.75 <br />13-24 months: $32.82 $29.54 <br />25-36 months: $34.81 $31.33 <br />37+ months: $36.87 $33.18 <br />Everett Transit wants to continue to be a leader in para transit service and to attract and retain the most <br />qualified para transit operators; therefore, the city will implement an adjustment to para transit <br />operator wages. Each step in the Para Transit (PT) operator monthly wage scale will equal 90% of the <br />Fixed Route (FR) operator monthly wage scale as established above. After 10 years of service, the PT <br />operator monthly wage will equal 95% of the FR operator monthly pay rate, and after 15 years of <br />service, the para transit operator will be paid the same rate as the FR operator. <br />
