Remove excess lubrication and other substances from mechanical and <br /> electrical equipment. Clean plumbing fixtures to a sanitary condition. <br /> f. Clean light fixtures and lamps. <br /> 4. Remove debris and surface dust from limited-access spaces including trenches, <br /> equipment vaults, manholes, catch basins, and similar spaces. <br /> a. Clean project site (yard and grounds), including landscape development <br /> areas, of litter and foreign substances. Sweep paved areas to a broom-clean <br /> condition. Remove stains, petro-chemical spills and other foreign deposits. <br /> Rake grounds which are neither planted nor paved to a smooth, even- <br /> textured surface. <br /> b. Leave concrete floors broom-clean. <br /> B. Removal of Protection: Except as otherwise indicated or requested by the Owner, <br /> remove temporary protection devices and facilities installed to protect previously <br /> completed work during the remainder of the construction period. <br /> C. Extra Materials: Where excess materials of value remain after completion of associated <br /> work, these materials become the property of the Owner. If declined by the Owner, the <br /> Contractor shall dispose of these materials as directed by the Owner. <br /> D. Storm/Sewer: Employee a professional cleaning service to vacuumed and wash all new <br /> storm and/or sewer pipes, structures and other elements associated with storm sewer <br /> assemblies. No sediment or contaminates shall be washed downstream to storm sewer <br /> assemblies off-site. If it comes to the owners attention that sediment/contaminates have <br /> been washed downstream, the owner may require the contractor to perform additional <br /> cleaning of storm/sewer assemblies downstream. The cost of this work shall be borne <br /> by the contractor and in no way passed onto the owner. If, the contractor refuses to <br /> comply, the owner will have the downstream storm/sewer assemblies cleaned by its own <br /> forces or by contract. The cost of this work shall be passed to the contractor via a <br /> changed order and the costs deducted from the contract amount. <br /> 3.2 INSPECTION <br /> A. Prior to requesting inspection for certification of Substantial Completion, inspect exposed <br /> surfaces. Verify entire Work is clean. <br /> B. Prior to certifying Substantial Completion, the Owner will make a detailed inspection of <br /> buildings, amenities and site, and will prepare a check list of cleaning and debris removal <br /> remaining to be completed before certification of Substantial Completion. Complete <br /> items on the Owner's check list, so that entire Project is clean and ready for occupancy <br /> by staff and public. <br /> END OF SECTION 01 74 23 <br /> 01 74 23 - 2 FINAL CLEANING <br />
