Wire: In accordance with NIST NBS Circular 37 and IEEE standards, in the <br /> United States for the purpose of interstate commerce, the definition of"wire" is a <br /> slender rod or filament of drawn metal. A group of small wires used as a single <br /> wire is properly called a "stranded wire." A wire or stranded wire covered with <br /> insulation is properly called an "insulated wire" or a "single-conductor cable." <br /> Nevertheless, when the context indicates that the wire is insulated, the term <br /> "wire" will be understood to include the insulation. <br /> 1.3 COORDINATION <br /> A. Interruption of Existing Electrical Service: Do not interrupt electrical service to facilities <br /> occupied by Owner or others unless permitted under the following conditions: <br /> 1. Do not proceed with interruption of electrical service without Owner's written <br /> permission. <br /> 2. Coordinate interruption with systems impacted by outage including, but not <br /> limited to, the following: <br /> a. Exercising generators. <br /> b. Emergency lighting. <br /> c. Elevators. <br /> d. Fire-alarm systems. <br /> B. Arrange to provide temporary electrical power in accordance with requirements <br /> specified in Division 01. <br /> 1.4 PREINSTALLATION MEETINGS <br /> A. Electrical Preconstruction Conference: Schedule conference with Architect and Owner, <br /> not later than 10 days after notice to proceed. Agenda topics include, but are not <br /> limited to, the following: <br /> 1. Electrical installation schedule. <br /> 2. Status of power system studies. <br /> 3. Value analysis proposals and requests for substitution of electrical equipment. <br /> 4. Utility work coordination and class of service requests. <br /> 5. Commissioning activities. <br /> 6. Sustainability activities. <br /> 1.5 SEQUENCING <br /> A. Conduct and submit results of power system studies before submitting Product Data <br /> and Shop Drawings for electrical equipment. <br /> 1.6 SCHEDULING <br /> A.
