Tape material and ink must be chemically inert and not be subject to <br /> degradation when exposed to acids, alkalis, and other destructive <br /> substances commonly found in soils. <br /> 2. Color and Printing: <br /> a. Comply with APWA Uniform Color Code using NEMA Z535.1 safety colors. <br /> b. Inscriptions for Red Tapes: "CAUTION BURIED ELECTRIC LINE <br /> BELOW". <br /> 2.4 TAGS <br /> A. Metal Tags: Brass or aluminum, 2 by 2 by 0.05 inches, with stamped legend, punched <br /> for use with self-locking cable tie fastener. <br /> 2.5 SIGNS <br /> A. Baked-Enamel Signs: <br /> 1. Preprinted aluminum signs, high-intensity reflective, punched or drilled for <br /> fasteners, with colors, legend, and size required for application. <br /> 2. 1/4 inches grommets in corners for mounting. <br /> 3. Nominal Size: 7 by 10 inches. <br /> 4. Engraved legend. <br /> 5. Thickness: <br /> a. For signs up to 20 sq. inches, minimum 1/16 inches thick. <br /> b. For signs larger than 20 sq. inches, 1/8 inches thick. <br /> c. Engraved legend with black letters on white face. <br /> d. Punched or drilled for mechanical fasteners with 1/4 inches. <br /> e. Framed with mitered acrylic molding and arranged for attachment at <br /> applicable equipment. <br /> 2.6 CABLE TIES <br /> A. Performance Criteria: <br /> 1. Regulatory Requirements: Listed and labeled in accordance with NFPA 70, by <br /> qualified electrical testing laboratory recognized by authorities having jurisdiction, <br /> and marked for intended location and application. <br /> B. General-Purpose Cable Ties: Fungus inert, self-extinguishing, one piece, self-locking, <br /> and Type 6/6 nylon. <br /> 1. Minimum Width: 3/16 inches. <br /> 2. Tensile Strength at 73 deg F in accordance with ASTM D638: 12,000 psi. <br /> 3. Temperature Range: Minus 40 to plus 185 deg F. <br /> 4. Color: Black, except, where used for color-coding. <br /> C.
