I
City of Everett 00 68 00-2
Inductive Charging Infrastructure for Everett Transit I
2.3.1 For each hour spent in the performance of manual or physical labor if it is for
more than twenty percent but less than fifty percent of their hours worked on a
public works project during any given week.
2.3.2 For all hours worked in any given week if they perform manual or physical labor
for fifty percent or more of their hours worked on a public works project during
such week. I
3. SUBCONTRACTORS
The Contractor shall include the apprentice utilization requirements of this Specification 006800 1
in all subcontracts executed for the Project, and ensure that all subcontractors working on the
Project are notified of the apprentice utilization requirements. The Contractor is responsible for
using good faith efforts to meet the apprentice utilization requirements of the Contract, including
overall compliance on all contract labor hours worked by subcontractors.
4. The request shall include documentation of the Contractor's affirmative efforts to
use apprentices registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training
Council ("SAC"), including copies of correspondence between the Contractor and the
SAC approved apprentice programs, union locals, FAST Jobs Coalition, and others.
4.2 Bases for modification of goal include, but are not limited to:
4.2.1 A lack of availability of apprentices;
111
4.2.2 A disproportionately high ratio of material costs to labor hours, which does not
make feasible the required minimum levels of apprentice participation; I
4.2.3 Participating contractors have demonstrated a good faith effort to comply with the
requirements of this resolution; or
4.2.4 Other criteria deemed appropriate by the City in its sole discretion. ,
4.3 City shall evaluate the request, and if appropriate, a change order shall be prepared by
City authorizing modification of the apprentice utilization goal. If City determines that a
modification is not justified, City shall communicate the decision in writing to the
Contractor. i
00 68 00 -2 APPRENTICE UTILIZATION AND REPORTING
I
