We will respond to your latest set of review comments in a formal letter but I <br /> wanted to share the confirming email received from Simpson Strong Tie Engineer Phillip Hui. <br /> Per previously submitted calculations for the bolted on cantilevered decks we have an ASD tension demand of 4.94 kips <br /> with a Cd = 1.0(dead and live)considering deck live load at 60 psf. <br /> Per email below the specified Simpson HDUS-SD2.5 tension tie with Cd = 1.0 has a capacity of 5460 pounds using the <br /> specified 2.5"SDS screws into (2) 1.75 LSL joists. Design specific gravity of LSL lumber is 0.5 (same as Doug fir) <br /> Simpson strong tie engineers have confirmed the capacity of the tension tie subject to static loading and thus our <br /> previously submitted calculations and detail are OK as submitted. <br /> Please call with questions. <br /> i l3 <br />
