Our proposal is based on
the shoring drawings and geotechnical report as described below.
1. Shoring Drawings by CT Engineering, job no. 18185,for the Marquee Apartments Everett marked
permit Issue 6/14/19.
2. Geotechnical Report by Associated Earth Sciences, project no. 190169E001 dated 5/28/19.
Please note that MNW has relied on the above information as being accurate irrespective of any disclaimers.
This information will be made part of any contract which we may enter into. MNW is a Union Affiliated
Contractor.
BUDGETARY PROPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
In review of the project documents we have identified approx.7,500 SF of temporary soil nail wall shoring
and 18 each vertical elements. Vertical face stability of soils is a prerequisite for soil nail wall construction.
Three borings were conducted on the site which shows competent soils other than the looser material in the
top few feet—we have assumed these conditions are consistent throughout the site. MNW has assumed
holes can be drilled without the need of casing and that ground water won't impede drilling and shotcrete
placement operations.
The vertical elements are first to be installed off an access bench provided by others. The majority of the
vertical elements underpin the existing structures to the North&South of the site. We have included costs
for upsizing the shafts from 18"to 30". A 30"diameter shaft will give us the ability to get the beams properly
aligned under the footings. We have assumed that a 6"x12"x3/4" beam cap will be welded to the beams and
that 2" of non-shrink grout will fill the void between the pile cap and the footing. All vertical elements will
have 2 x3 Nelson studs welded to the faces.
Soil nail wall shoring will then be constructed in consecutive top/down lifts—this project has 5 lifts, a lift
typically taking 1 week each. Soil nail wall shoring requires extra coordination and teamwork with the
Geotechnical Construction Specialist
Since 1946
/ 3
