Per our conversation,the type of construction for the upper building has changed from <br /> IIIA to VA.This review is based on that revision.Section 504.4.1 <br /> a. The allowable area calculation should be shown on the plans for the type V-A <br /> building.Section 506.2.3 Response: The construction type has been revised. See <br /> "Building Code—Construction Types Sheet A0.2 <br /> b. The building height is shown as 70.85' per the elevations and definition in Section <br /> 202.Table 503.4 provides for a maximum height of 70' for Group R Occupancies of <br /> Type VA Construction.It is our opinion that the .85' discrepancy is not significant <br /> YP P P Y g <br /> enough of a deviation to warrant either a re-design or a change to a higher fire- <br /> resistive type of construction.Section 510.2 Response: Building Height Calculations <br /> have been revised. See sheet A-0.2, Building Code—Maximum Building Heights <br /> c. The stairs are required to be pressurized for the building (and special inspected), <br /> however the elevator is not per the building code... unless I am missing something... <br /> (as stated in Note#24 on Sheet A-0.2). Response: A note requiring stair pressurization <br /> has been added. See sheet A0.2 Building Code—Mechanical Notes. The elevator is <br /> being pressurized per Washington IBC section 909.21 (pressurization in lieu of enclosed <br /> elevator lobbies) <br /> d. Legally required standby power should be provided for the stairway pressurization <br /> system-the method of compliance should be clarified on the plans (2ndary tap, <br /> generator,etc).Response: A note has been added indicating a secondary tap. See sheet <br /> A-0.2 Building Code—Electrical Notes. <br /> e. The one-hour exterior wall listings will be review upon re-submission.Response: <br /> Exterior wall types have been revised to one hour. See revised wall types Sheet A-9.0 <br /> 2.
