A draft operating budget is in development. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The City of Everett is proposing construction of a firefighting training facility on a parcel <br />of land owned by the city and adjacent to Naval Station Everett. Funding for the project <br />will be sought from the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) <br />Defense Community Infrastructure Program (DCIP 2023.) If constructed, the project <br />would be used for training of U.S. Navy sailors, federal firefighters, and municipal <br />firefighters. The site design includes live -fire training facilities necessary to prepare for <br />naval vessel and structural fires. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the Mayor to submit the 2023 Defense Community Infrastructure Program <br />grant application to the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation on or before <br />June 23, 2023. <br />
