Carcinogenic PAHs(cPAHs)(as cPAH-TEQ) <br /> and BaP(soil) <br /> 1.2 PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES <br /> 1.2.1 Description of site development <br /> Soil excavation for environmental remediation will be conducted as described in the <br /> Cleanup Action Plan(CAP)(PGG 2019).Excavated contaminated soil will be removed <br /> to a Department of Ecology approved disposal facility.Excavation is planned for the late <br /> dry season when there will be only a very small chance of any precipitation and thus <br /> erosion control or ponding water. <br /> 1.2.2 Description of construction activities <br /> Site preparation will include Best Management Practices(BMP)per this SWPPP <br /> document: <br /> • establish contaminated work areas and clean zones, <br /> • locate stockpiles, <br /> • install armored construction access, <br /> • install temporary silt fence, <br /> • install storm drain inlet protection near excavation activities <br /> Excavation will take place in phases.Contaminated material will primarily be loaded <br /> directly into rail cans for transport off-site,though a limited amount will be consolidated <br /> in the designated stockpile areas prior to transport off site. <br /> 1.2.3 Description of site drainage including flow from and onto adjacent properties <br /> The site is predominantly flat with high infiltration capacity,and flow from or onto <br /> adjacent properties is negligible. <br /> 1.2.4 Description of final stabilization <br /> Final stabilization will be achieved by backfilling all excavations with gravel. <br /> 1.2.5 Activities regarding contaminated soil or groundwater <br /> Excavated contaminated soil will be removed to a Department of Ecology approved <br /> disposal facility.Any surface water that does not infiltrate and has the potential to <br /> migrate off of the property will be pumped and stored in temporary storage tanks for <br /> either off-site disposal or approved and permitted treatment and discharge to sewer <br /> system if applicable. <br /> EVERETT STEEL SWPPP <br /> AUGUST 2019 1,gG <br />
