2.0 CONSTRUCTION STORMWATER BEST MANAGEMENT
PRACTICES (BMPS)
• BMPs are consistent with the most current approved edition of the Stormwater
Management Manual for Western Washington(SWMMWW)at sites west of the crest
of the Cascade Mountains.
• BMPs include armored construction entrance, silt fence, and storm drain inlet
protection.
• Location of each BMP is noted on the site map(Figure 1).
2.1 ELEMENT 1: PRESERVE VEGETATION / MARK CLEARING LIMITS
No significant vegetation is present on the site. Therefore,no BMPs are applicable.
2.2 ELEMENT 2: ESTABLISH CONSTRUCTION ACCESS
An armored construction access will be installed at the vehicle access point. In the event
that track out cannot be effectively prevented with use of existing BMPs,a wheel wash
meeting the standards of BMP C106: Wheel Wash, will be installed. The existing chain
link fence will remain in place to restrict vehicle access to the designed locations.
List and Describe BMPs:
BMP C105: Stabilized Construction Entrance/Exit,and BMP C106: Wheel Wash if
necessary.
Installation Schedules: Prior to start of work
Inspection and Maintenance Plan: The stabilized construction access will be inspected
daily to verify compliance with BMP C105; specifically, that all quarry spalls are in
place, and sediment has not accumulated within the pad. If installed, the Wheel Wash
will be maintained as recommended by the manufacturer, and inspected daily to ensure
that it is compliance with BMP C106:Wheel Wash.Water from the wheel wash will be
removed from the site and transported to an approved disposal facility.
Responsible Staff: The contractor will be responsible for the installation, inspection, and
maintenance of construction access.
2.3 ELEMENT 3: CONTROL FLOW RATES
Due to the flat topography and high infiltration capacity there is not expected to be
surface water flow off the site.Any surface water that does not infiltrate and has the
potential to migrate off the property will be pumped and stored in temporary storage
tanks for either off-site disposal or approved and permitted treatment and discharge to
sewer system if allowed.A silt fence that will be installed around the perimeter of the site
will serve as a backup to slow and disperse any incidental surface water flow.
EVERETT STEEL SWPPP
AUGUST 2019 1'gG
