ORDINAICE No. 2766 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance <br /> do. 2730 of the City of Everett , entitled as follows: <br /> "An Ordinance relating to the public health <br /> and providing for the inspection of animal meats <br /> intended for human consumption, regulating and <br /> licensing the preparation, handling and sale of <br /> such meats, defining offenses , and prescribing <br /> penalties for the violation thereof, " <br /> and declaring an emergency: <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2730 <br /> of the City of Everett be , and the same is hereby amended to <br /> read as follows: <br /> Section 1 : Definitions. That the following <br /> words and terms, as used in this ordinance, shall be deemed and <br /> construed to mean and include the following: <br /> (a) The word "Meat" : All animal flesh, carcasses and <br /> parts thereof, (excluding poultry and game) , designed or intended <br /> for human consumption, or sold or disposed of as human food . <br /> (b) The term "Inspected Meat" : All meat inspected, <br /> passed and approved , and stamped or tagged by a qualified <br /> inspector, which lawfully bears the stamp mark or tag indica- <br /> tion of inspection and approval by the Bureau of Animal <br /> Industry of the Department of Agriculture of the united <br /> Ctates, or the Departaent of Agriculture of the State of <br /> Washington. <br /> (c ) The term "Uncooked Meat" : All meat which has not <br /> been cooked or cured by smoking, salting, drying or other <br /> recognized trade process of curing. <br /> (d) The term "Cured Meat" : All meat which has been <br /> cured by cooking, drying, or other recognized trade process <br /> of curing. <br /> (e) The term "Meat Shop" : Shall include wholesale or <br /> retail meat shop or shops for the manufacture of meat products, <br /> and all premises , buildings and/or parts thereof used for the <br /> preparation for sale , or for the sale or disposition of <br /> uncooked meats to consumers, but in which animals are not <br /> slaughtered. <br /> (f) The term "Meat Salesman" : All persons selling or <br /> disposing of uncooked meat and/or cured meat and/or sausage to <br /> consumers. <br /> (g) The word 'Inspector" : The Health Officer , or any of <br /> his subordinates designated as "Meat Inspectors of the Depart- <br /> ment of Health. " <br /> (h) Tree term "DelicatessenStore " : Shall include any <br /> delicatessen shop or store, grocery store or any other place <br /> of business where cured meats are sold to consumers. <br />
