ORDINAICE No. 2766 AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance do. 2730 of the City of Everett , entitled as follows: "An Ordinance relating to the public health and providing for the inspection of animal meats intended for human consumption, regulating and licensing the preparation, handling and sale of such meats, defining offenses , and prescribing penalties for the violation thereof, " and declaring an emergency: THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 : That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2730 of the City of Everett be , and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1 : Definitions. That the following words and terms, as used in this ordinance, shall be deemed and construed to mean and include the following: (a) The word "Meat" : All animal flesh, carcasses and parts thereof, (excluding poultry and game) , designed or intended for human consumption, or sold or disposed of as human food . (b) The term "Inspected Meat" : All meat inspected, passed and approved , and stamped or tagged by a qualified inspector, which lawfully bears the stamp mark or tag indica- tion of inspection and approval by the Bureau of Animal Industry of the Department of Agriculture of the united Ctates, or the Departaent of Agriculture of the State of Washington. (c ) The term "Uncooked Meat" : All meat which has not been cooked or cured by smoking, salting, drying or other recognized trade process of curing. (d) The term "Cured Meat" : All meat which has been cured by cooking, drying, or other recognized trade process of curing. (e) The term "Meat Shop" : Shall include wholesale or retail meat shop or shops for the manufacture of meat products, and all premises , buildings and/or parts thereof used for the preparation for sale , or for the sale or disposition of uncooked meats to consumers, but in which animals are not slaughtered. (f) The term "Meat Salesman" : All persons selling or disposing of uncooked meat and/or cured meat and/or sausage to consumers. (g) The word 'Inspector" : The Health Officer , or any of his subordinates designated as "Meat Inspectors of the Depart- ment of Health. " (h) Tree term "DelicatessenStore " : Shall include any delicatessen shop or store, grocery store or any other place of business where cured meats are sold to consumers.
