FALL PROTECTION PLAN <br />This plan describes procedures to ensure that employees who are working ten feet or more above <br />ground, other work surfaces, or water are adequately protected with either a fall arrestor fall <br />restraint system. <br />Supervisor's Responsibility <br />Priorto the start of thejob inwhich employees are working at elevated heights, thejob supervisor <br />will fill out a "Fall Protection Work Plan". This plan will: <br />1. Identify all fall hazards in the work area; <br />2. Identify the method of fall arrest or fall restraint to be provided; <br />3. Identify the correct procedures for the assembly, maintenance, inspection and disassemtf of <br />the fall protection system to be used; <br />4. Identify the method of providing overhead protection forworkers who may be in, or pass <br />through, the area below the work site; <br />5. Identify the method for prompt, safe removal of injured workers. <br />Written Postings and Notifications <br />Thejob supervisor will post the written fall protection work plan near the Teknotherm job box at the <br />site. The posting atthe job box also contain information about emergency medical treatment and <br />employee removal. <br />Training and Orientation <br />Fall protection training will occur priorto the beginning of ajob and as new employees begin <br />working. Equipment changes and plan modifications will bediscussed attheweekly crewsafety <br />meeting. Documentation regardingfall protection training will occur on the Teknotherm training log; <br />at the end of thejob all training logs will be transferred to the Teknotherm office. <br />Equipment <br />The following fall protection equipment may be used: <br />• Horizontal lifeline <br />• Shock absorbing lanyard <br />• Full body harness <br />• Tie -off point capable of 5000 lb. load <br />• Retractable lanyard <br />• Scaffold w/guardrai I and toe boards <br />• Restraint line <br />• Scissor lift <br />• Forklift man lift <br />• Other not identified <br />Maintenance, Inspection and Assembly <br />Standard Guardrails <br />Whenever possible, assembly will be accomplished in an area where fall hazards do not exist. When <br />this is not possible, employees will be protected with standard body harness and fall <br />
