Revised 05/01/2016 <br />Employee Responsibilities <br />Do not enter any confined spaces. These spaces include: <br />1. Spaces that have been sealed <br />2. Non -ventilated spaces that have been freshly painted <br />3. Spaces that have contained or contain combustible or flammable liquids or gases <br />4. Spaces that contain or have contained toxic, corrosive or irritant materials <br />5. Spaces that have been fumigated <br />6. Spaces containing materials or residues of materials that create an oxygen deficient atmosphere <br />7. Spaces that are rusty <br />8. Tanks, sumps, hoppers, trenches, orvaults. <br />General <br />Teknotherm employees are prohibited from entering confined spaces at any time. <br />Supervisor's Responsibilities <br />1. Inform employees and subcontractors of the location of confined spaces, where applicable. <br />2. Prevent any employees from entering. <br />Training <br />Employees will be trained to: <br />1. Recognize the characteristics of a confined space <br />2. Be aware of the hazards that may be faced in confined spaces. <br />Rescue <br />Never attempt to rescue anyone in a confined space. Call 911 immediately. <br />SHIPBOARD FIRE SAFETY PLAN <br />Purpose <br />The purpose of this fire safety plan is to establish actions to prevent fires and ensure employee <br />safety in the event of a fire. <br />Significant Fire Hazards <br />• Welding, grinding and cutting <br />• Paint and solvent vapors <br />• Damaged electrical components <br />• Foam insulation <br />• Cardboard, pallets and litter <br />• Fuels such as gasoline, propane and acetylene <br />• Chemicals <br />
