• <br /> i • <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE No.2752 <br /> An Ordinance fixing and determining the number of the <br /> various officerb, assistants, deputies and employees of the City <br /> of 'Everett, prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants , <br /> deputies and employees, fixing their salaries and repealing <br /> Ordinances No. 2691 and No. 2707 of the City of Everett, and <br /> Providing that this ordinance shall take effect on January 1,1938. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : That beginning January 1, 1938, and on <br /> and after said date, the various officers , assistants, deputies <br /> and employees of the Gity of Everett, in addition to those pro- <br /> vided in the Charter of the City of Everett , shall be as in <br /> this ordinance provided. <br /> Section 2: CITY ATTOR?EY. There snail be in <br /> the office of the city Attorney a Deputy City Attorney and a <br /> stenographer. Said Deputy City Attorney and. said stenographer <br /> shall perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize <br /> and direct. <br /> • Section 3: CITY HALL. There shall be in the <br /> City Hall One (1) janitor and One (1) assistant janitor. They <br /> shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. <br /> Section 4: LIBRARY DEp'RT'a;L : T. There s na l l be <br /> in the library department , the following named officers, <br /> assistants and employees: <br /> One (1) librarian; One (1) first assistant librarian; <br /> One (1) children' s librarian; One (1) cataloger; One (1) .sub. <br /> professional assistant ; One (1) desk clerk; One (1) Clerk, <br /> (half time) and One (1) typist and clerk. <br /> The librarian shall be in ;general charge and have <br /> supervision of the library department . The other officers and - <br /> assistants shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature <br /> of their office and as authorized and directed by the librarian. <br /> DEFARTOENT OF FINANCE. <br /> Section 5 : CITY CLERK. There shall be the follow- <br /> ing named deputies and assistants in the office of the City Clerk <br /> to-wit: <br /> One (1) deputy City Clerk; One (1) stenographer and <br /> Clerk; and One (1) Stenographer and Clerk, (part time) . <br /> It shall be the duty of such officers , deputies and <br /> assistants to perform the duties pertaining to the office of <br /> the City Clerk under the authority and direction of said City <br /> Clerk. <br />
