• i • • ORDINANCE No.2752 An Ordinance fixing and determining the number of the various officerb, assistants, deputies and employees of the City of 'Everett, prescribing the duties of such officers, assistants , deputies and employees, fixing their salaries and repealing Ordinances No. 2691 and No. 2707 of the City of Everett, and Providing that this ordinance shall take effect on January 1,1938. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 : That beginning January 1, 1938, and on and after said date, the various officers , assistants, deputies and employees of the Gity of Everett, in addition to those pro- vided in the Charter of the City of Everett , shall be as in this ordinance provided. Section 2: CITY ATTOR?EY. There snail be in the office of the city Attorney a Deputy City Attorney and a stenographer. Said Deputy City Attorney and. said stenographer shall perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct. • Section 3: CITY HALL. There shall be in the City Hall One (1) janitor and One (1) assistant janitor. They shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City Hall. Section 4: LIBRARY DEp'RT'a;L : T. There s na l l be in the library department , the following named officers, assistants and employees: One (1) librarian; One (1) first assistant librarian; One (1) children' s librarian; One (1) cataloger; One (1) .sub. professional assistant ; One (1) desk clerk; One (1) Clerk, (half time) and One (1) typist and clerk. The librarian shall be in ;general charge and have supervision of the library department . The other officers and - assistants shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the librarian. DEFARTOENT OF FINANCE. Section 5 : CITY CLERK. There shall be the follow- ing named deputies and assistants in the office of the City Clerk to-wit: One (1) deputy City Clerk; One (1) stenographer and Clerk; and One (1) Stenographer and Clerk, (part time) . It shall be the duty of such officers , deputies and assistants to perform the duties pertaining to the office of the City Clerk under the authority and direction of said City Clerk.
