• <br /> • <br /> Section 17: It shall be unlawful for the operator <br /> of any vehicle to operate over any unprotected hose of a fire <br /> - department when laid down on any public highway or any private <br /> • road , street, way or alley. <br /> Section 18: Vo vehicle at any time shall be driven <br /> through or within any pedestrian safety zone which has been <br /> distinctly marked by signs, buttons, lines standards or in any <br /> other manner. <br /> Section 19: Pedestrians shall be_ subject to traffic <br /> control signals at intersections and the directions of officers <br /> discharging the duty of directing traffic at intersection. <br /> Where traffic control signals are not in place or in operation, <br /> the operator of a vehicle shall yield the right of way, slowing <br /> down or stopping, if need be, to so yield, to any pedestrian <br /> crossing the roadway within a marked crosswalk or within any <br /> unmarked crosswalk of any intersection. <br /> Section 20 : (a) uo person shall stop, stand, or park a <br /> vehicle , except when necessary to avoid conflict with other <br /> traffic or in compliance with the directions of a peace officer <br /> or traffic control device, in any of the following places: <br /> 1. On a sidewalk or parking strip; <br /> 2. In front of a public or private driveway or <br /> within five (5) feet of the end of the curb <br /> radius leading thereto; <br /> 3. Within an intersection; <br /> 4. Within fifteen (15) feet of a fire hydrant; <br /> 5. On a crosswalk; <br /> 6. Within twenty (20) feet of a crosswalk at an <br /> intersection; <br /> 7. Within thirty (30) feet upon the approach to <br /> any flashing beacon, stop sign , or traffic <br /> control signal located at the side of a roadway; <br /> 8. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb <br /> or within twenty-five (25) feet of points on <br /> the curb iininediately opposite the ends of a <br /> safety zone , unless a different distance is <br /> indicated by signs or markings; <br /> 9. Within thirty (30) feet of the nearest rail of <br /> a railroad crossing; <br /> 10. Within fifty (50) feet of the driveway entrance <br /> to any fire or police station or on the side of <br /> astreet opposite the entrance to any fire station <br /> within seventy-five (75) feet of said entrance when <br /> properly sign posted; <br /> 11. Alongside or opposite any street excavation <br /> or obstruction when such stopping, standing, or <br /> parking would obstruct traffic; <br /> -8- <br />
