This product has proven to be effective at reducing odors; no
substitute or “or equal” chemical products will be considered.
The Supplier will be responsible for the maintenance of the chemical delivery systems, including the
metering system and all associated piping and appurtenances for the term of the contract. The metering
system must contain controls as necessary to facilitate variation in feed rates over a typical 24-hour period
of variations of sewage quality and quantity. A calibration cylinder must be permanently installed to
facilitate calibration of feed pumps.
The City estimates an approximate yearly usage of 100,000 gallons of Bioxide® solution. This estimate
does not constitute a guarantee but is published solely to assist the proposer. The actual usage will vary
and be based solely upon the City’s need and may be more or substantially less than the estimated
amount and may be none at all.
2.2 SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work includes providing product delivery compatible with the current city chemical storage
and dosing equipment.
All components of any equipment provided during the term of the services must be compatible with the
existing site conditions and chemicals to which they are subjected to during the normal operation of the
existing onsite storage and delivery systems. Compounds with which the materials must be compatible
with include, but are not limited to:
1. Hydrogen Sulfide
2. Bioxide® Solution
A. Bioxide® Supply
A Bioxide® supply is required to prevent odor and corrosion within the City of Everett wastewater
collection and treatment system.
The supplier must hold license right to provide any products proposed. Suppliers must provide a
copy of their licensing rights with their proposal submission.
Bioxide® Specification
1. The material supplied must be an aqueous solution of ammonium calcium nitrate double salt
containing a minimum of 3.5 pounds of nitrate-oxygen per gallon.
2. The material must be capable of reducing the dissolved hydrogen sulfide concentration in
wastewater to less than 0.1 mg/l.
