July 12, 2023 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., July 12, 2023, by <br />President Stonecipher. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Fosse, Rhyne, Schwab, <br />Vogeli, Zarlingo, Tuohy, and Stonecipher were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />On behalf of the City Council, Council Member Fosse acknowledged the original inhabitants of <br />this place, the sduhubš people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. <br /> <br />The minutes of the June 28, 2023, City Council meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR’S COMMENTS <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Vogeli, to concur with the <br />following appointment: <br /> <br />Library Board of Trustees <br />• Tondi Rainey, Pos #2 – term expiring 12/31/2025 <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin stated the 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held this upcoming weekend. <br />She also commented on school safety and stated staff is working with the school district. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Council received 19 written comments and the following members of the public spoke: <br /> <br />• Christa Kemp, illegal fireworks <br />• Stephanie Sausman, staffing crisis at Providence <br />• Trevor Gjendem, staffing crisis at Providence <br />• Medhat Said, Waits motel property acquisition
