The 2"d floor north of grid F was designed for a live load of 100psf per the 2007 remodel drawings and
calculations by CG Engineering. The 2"d floor (slab on grade) south of grid F was designed for a live load of 250psf
per the original 1992 drawings by CT Engineering.
For this current project, the proposed use of the hatched area shown on 52.1 is transporting and stacking meter
pallets. Our analysis determined that (2) meter pallets max can be stacked at a time and only (1) meter pallet
can be transported at a time, in order to stay below the floor design live load of 100psf. We have added notes to
the design loads on sheet 51.1 and revised the hatch note on 52.1 to clarify.
2. The proposed change in space includes storage of utility meters on the 2nd floor with notes indicating stacking
limits. The reference drawing on the permit calculations notes that the original design live load is 50 psf office LL
+ 20 psf partitions (additional dead load). Please provide verification that the framing is able to support 100 psf
LL or 125 psf LL (dependent on the response from comment 1). Typically storage in a commercial buildings is
125 psf for a light warehouse type storage use. If the storage live load is less than 125 psf, please provide
calculations validating that the proposed design loading exceeds that of the maximum stacked pallets.
Refer to attached supplemental calculations showing our analysis of the 2nd floor where the meter pallets will be
stored and transported.
Thank you,
_ James Bronder, P.E., S.E.
Associate Engineer — Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2"d Floor, Everett, WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/Th: 8 a.m. —12 p.m & 1 p.m. — 3 p.m.
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note: EmaiIs and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and maybe subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
3I3
