ORDINANCE Cl H0. 2691 <br /> .L' 0EDLaNCE providing for the fixing and determining <br /> of certain additional officers, assistants, and employees in <br /> the Water Department of the City of Everett, prescribing the <br /> duties of such officers, assistants and employees, and fixing <br /> their salaries; providing for the payment of the costs of holding <br /> an election in the City of Everett under Ordinance No. 2687 of <br /> the City of Everett; providing for the payment of certain legal <br /> expenses incurred in connection with the water project -provided <br /> for in said Ordinance No. 2687, and authorizing and providing <br /> for the payments of costs of engineering expenses, field work <br /> expenses, exepnses for preparatin of plans and specifications, <br /> and all incidental expenses in Co xnection with the work on said <br /> water project; creating a special water construction fund, and <br /> providing for the payment of all expenses herein referred to; <br /> providing, an emergency expenditure therefor, and declaring an <br /> emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. That a public emergency exists, and has been <br /> caused by the adoption by the voters of the City of Everett, <br /> at an election held on the 20th day of June, 1936, under Ordinance <br /> No. 2687 of the project providing for additions to and betterments <br /> of the present water supply system of the city of Everett. <br /> That it is necessary to have additional officers and <br /> employees in the Water Department to perform work in connection <br /> with the said water project, and it is necessary to provide <br /> for the payment of holding said election, and for certain legal w°ro� l`: <br /> in connection with the said water project, and that said er ergenc' <br /> could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the <br /> making of the budget for the year 1936, to-wit: in October, 1935. <br /> Section 2. That all engineering work, field work, and <br /> work in connection with the preparation of tine plans and specifi- <br /> cations in connection with the said water project be performed <br /> by the plater Department. <br /> Section 4. That none of the officers or employees herein <br /> provided for shall be permanent officers or employees, but shall <br /> be considered temporary officers and employees only, and shall <br /> be employed only when there is work for them to perform. Such <br /> officers and employees shall perform duties which the Superintendent <br /> of the dater System or the Commissioner of Public works shall <br /> designate. <br /> -1- <br />
