` 1 <br /> I <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2297-98 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing licensing regulations for "for-hire" vehicles and <br /> repealing ordinance numbers 1400-87, 1623-89 and 1921-93. <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council finds that in order to protect the health, safety and welfare <br /> of the citizens of Everett there is a need to adopt licensing regulations for the operation of <br /> for-hire vehicles; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: SECTIONS <br /> Section No. <br /> 2 Definitions. <br /> 3 Purpose. <br /> 4 Rules and regulations. <br /> 5 Title-Gender. <br /> 6 Supersede. <br /> 7 License required. <br /> 8 License term-Expiration of licenses and license fees-Limitation. <br /> 9 For-hire vehicle business license-Application. <br /> 10 License fee. <br /> 11 For-hire vehicle business license-Required- Issuance or nonissuance. <br /> 12 For-hire vehicle business license - Suspension and revocation. <br /> 13 Suspension, revocation and denial-Hearings and appeals. <br /> 14 License transferability. <br /> 15 Liability insurance. <br /> 16 Failure to pay judgment. <br /> 17 For-hire driver's license-Required. <br /> 18 For-hire driver's license-Application <br /> 19 For-hire driver's license-Qualifications. <br /> 20 Fingerprints and photographs of applicants. <br /> 21 Driver's license-Application investigation-Issuance or nonissuance. <br /> 22 Information contained in application-Notification requirements. <br /> 23 Driver's license-Display. <br /> 24 Suspension-Revocation of for-hire driver's licenses. <br /> 25 Vehicle occupancy-Driver's working hours-Driver's condition. <br /> 26 Vehicle equipment, maintenance and inspection. <br /> 27 Vehicle color scheme-Name of company-Number of vehicle-Interior I.D. <br /> 28 Driver's dress. <br /> 29 Taximeter requirements-Inspection. <br /> 30 Rates. <br /> 31 Posting of schedule of fares. <br /> 32 Right to require proof of sufficient funds-Carrying more than one fare. <br /> 1 <br />
