<br /> An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2513, as amended by Ordinance No. 2526,
<br /> known as the "License Code" entitled as follows, to-wit:
<br /> "An Ordinance relating to, and providing for, the licensing and regulating
<br /> of certain occupations, businesses, vocations, trades, callings, amusements,
<br /> places of amusements, exhibitions, entertainments, animals, motor vehicles,
<br /> places and establishments; defining offenses, providing penalties; providing
<br /> for the revocation and suspension of licenses; repealing Ordinances No. 2196,
<br /> 853, 1301, 1503, 1583, 1585, 1595, 1598, 1771, 1851, 1932, 1941, 1948, 1964,
<br /> 2087, 2182, : 249, 233, 2370 and 2038, and all other ordinances or parts of
<br /> ordinances in conflict herewith"
<br /> by amending Sections 49, 52, 81, 82 , 83, 84, 85, 87 and 120 thereof, and repeal-
<br /> ing Section 64 of Ordinance No. 2513, Ordinance No. 2587 and all other ordinances
<br /> or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith) and declaring an emergency.
<br /> THE CITY 02 EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1: That Section 49 of Ordinance No. 2513, as amended by Ordinance
<br /> No. 2526, of the city of Everett, be amended to read as follows, to-wit:
<br /> Section 49: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to op-
<br /> erate any motor truck or motor truck trailer, other than such as are engaged in
<br /> the dray or transfer business, or cause either of the same to be operated over,
<br /> upon or along any street or alley of the city of Everett without having procured
<br /> a license and license plates from the City Clerk, payment of license fee on the
<br /> following basis for one year having first been made to the City Treasurer.
<br /> Motor trucks or motor truck trailers: Neighing 1500 lbs. or less, $5.00.
<br /> "i'eighing more than 1500 lbs. , $5.00 and in addition thereto 150 per cwt. for all
<br /> weight in excess of 1500 lbs. and also 150 per cwt. of the rated carrying capacity
<br /> of such motor trucks or motor truck trailers other than such as are engaged in the
<br /> dray or transfer business.
<br /> One of said license plates so procured from the City Clerk shall be attached
<br /> to the left side of said vehicle and the other to the right side of said vehicle
<br /> and attached in such manner that they will be conspicuous and in such manner that
<br /> they can be plainly seen and read at all times..
<br /> Section 2. That Section 52 of Ordinance ho. 2513, as amended by Ordinance
<br /> No. 2526, of the city of Everett, be amended to read as follows, to-wit:
<br /> Section 52. It shall be unlawful to operate any motor vehicle for hire, in-
<br /> cluding taxi-cabs, for-dire cars, over or upon or along any of the streets or
