r <br /> NO. 2526, of the city of Everett, be amended to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> Section 82: The annual license shall be as follows: For each male or spayed <br /> female dog, $1.00. For each unspayed or female dog, $2.50; provided that all li- <br /> censes shall expire on the 31st day of :December following the issuance of the <br /> license. <br /> Section 5. That Section 83 of Ordinance No. 2513, 4s amended by Ordinance <br /> o. 2526, of the city of Everett, be amended to read as follows, to-witt <br /> Section 83: Upon payment to the City Treasurer of the regular license fee <br /> and upon presentation of the receipt thereof to the City Clerk, the City Clerk <br /> shall issue to the person applying for the same a license and shall furnish with <br /> such license a metal tag bearing the number of the license, the year it was is- <br /> sued, and the word "Everett" . Said tag shall be attached to a collar, which <br /> shall be worn by the dog at all times. <br /> Section 6. That Section 84 of Ordinance No. 2513, as amended by Ordinance <br /> No. 2526, of the city of Everett, be amended to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> Section 84: Every dog kept or found running at large not wearing a license <br /> tag as herein provided is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and it shall <br /> be the duty of the Poundmaster to seize and impound all such dogs, and when im- <br /> pounded, they shall be kept in custody not less than forty-eight hours, and if <br /> the owner or keeper of any dog so impounded shall not redeem said dog by paying <br /> the penaltyl herein provided, then it shall be the duty of the Poundmaster, at <br /> the expiration of said time, to offer such dog for sale for the payment of said <br /> tax and fine, and in case of failure to obtain a purchaser for the amount of <br /> said tax and fine, it shall be the duty of said Poundmaster to immediately kill <br /> said dog; provided, that if a dog so sold is not to be kept in the city of Ever- <br /> ett, the purchaser of such dog shall not be required to pay the license fee here- <br /> in provided, and provided further that if no purchaser can be found who will pay <br /> the tax and fine, said Poundmaster may sell said dog for the amount of the tax. <br /> Section 7. That Section 85 of Ordinance No. 2513, as amended by Ordinance <br /> No. 2526, of the city of Everett, be amended to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> Section 85: The owner of any dog impounded may redeem the same within forty- <br /> eight hours by paying to the Poundmaster the license tax together with a penalty <br /> of $1.00 impounding fee; providing that said owner has not been notified to pay <br /> -3- <br />
