<br /> An Ordinance providing for emergency expenditures in the Office of Poundmas-
<br /> ter of the City of Everett, caused by the difficulty in keeping and maintaining
<br /> an efficient appointee as Poundmaster , the rental of a suitable City Pound, the
<br /> payment of the necessary and incidental expenses in operating the same , fixing
<br /> the salary for the services of a Poundmaster, providing for the issuance of emer-
<br /> gency warrants therefor, amending Ordinance No . 2513 , entitled as follows, to-wit:
<br /> "An Ordinance relating to, and providing for, the licensing and regulat-
<br /> ing of certain occupations, businesses, vocations , trades, callings,
<br /> amusements, places of amusement, exhibitions , entertainments, animals,
<br /> motor vehicles, places and establishments; defining offenses, providing
<br /> penalties; providing for the revocation and suspension of licenses; re-
<br /> • pealing Ordinances No . 2196, 353, 1301, 1503, 1583, 1585, 1595, 1598,
<br /> 1771, 1851, 1932, 1941, 1948, 1964, 2087, 2182, 2249, 2333, 2370 and
<br /> 2038, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
<br /> with."
<br /> by amending Section 92 of said Ordinance No . 2513 relating to the compensation
<br /> which the Poundmaster is to receive in the performance of his duties, repealing
<br /> Ordinance No. 2566 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
<br /> herewith and declaring an emergency.
<br /> } AS , the provisions for the payment of the necessary and incidental ex-
<br /> penses in connection with the upkeep of the City Pound and the salary of the Pound-
<br /> master of the City of Everett is unsatisfactory and the cause of many changes in
<br /> the personnel of the office due to an insufficient income as it is now operated;
<br /> and
<br /> WREAS , the efficient operation of the City Pound and the maintenance of the
<br /> office of Poundmaster , in the interests of the health and safety of the City of lv-
<br /> Brett, and in the judgment of the City Council, requires that a fixed sum be appro-
<br /> priated out of any funds not otherwise appropriated for the use of said office , to
<br /> be paid by issuing emergency warrants therefor. Now, Therefore
<br /> HE CITY OF EVE TT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1. That Section 92 of Ordinance No . 2513 be amended so as to read as
<br /> follows, to-wit:
<br /> Section 92: Said Poundmaster is to furnish a suitable place within the city
<br /> limits for a City Pound and shall pay the rental therefor and all other incidental
<br /> and necessary expense required in the upkeep and maintenance of such City Pound;
<br /> he shall also furnish at his own expense all equipment required by Aim in the per-
<br /> formance of his duties, including additional assistance , if any, and for all such
<br /> costs and expenses and for services which he renders to the city as Poundmaster,
<br /> he shall receive One Hundred Fifteen 0115.00) Dollars per month; Provided , an item-
<br /> ized statement of the disbursements made and paid be filed with the City Clerk on
<br /> the first day of each month.
