• ORDINANCE NO. 2613 An Ordinance relating to, and providing for, the licensing and regulation of the business or occupation of carrying on and conducting Dancer Cafes and res- taurants permitting dancing or entertainment in the city of Everett, levying an annual license fee , excise or occupation tax for revenue upon the same , es- tablishing zones for the location thereof, prescribing the possession and sale of intoxicating beverages therein and the suspension or revocation of any such license , imposing penalties for the violation thereof and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVER:TT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1 . In this Ordinance , a "Dance Cafe" or restaurant means any es- tablishment where food, beer or wine is habitually furnished to the public, and where dancing, aptatin7 or other like entertainment is a feature of diversion and amusement therein; Provided, the provisions of this ordinance shall not be construed to include a restaurant where dancing or other entertainment is not permitted . Section 2. There are hereby levied and shall be collected license fees, ex- cise or occupation taxes against the persons, associations, copartnerships or cor- porations operating a dance cafe or restaurant permitting dancing or other enter- tain.nent, on account of their business activities, amounts hereinafter fixed, as follows: (a) Upon every person, association, copartnership or corporation, within the City of Everett, engaged in the business or occupation of carrying on or con- ducting a "Dance Cafe" or restaurant permitting dancing or other entertainment, a fee or tax of One Hundred Fifty (p150.00) Dollars per annum. Section 3. No license shall be granted to any person, association, copart- nership or corporation and it shall be unlawful to carry on, or conduct the bu- siness of a "Dance Cafe" or restaurant permitting dancing or other entertainment, at any place within the limits of the city of Everett outside of a district or zone bounded and described as follows, to-wit: (R) Beginning at a. point where the center line of Everett Avenue if extend- ed intersects the city's westerly boundary line ; thence easterly on the center line of Everett Avenue to a point where sail avenue , if extended, intersects the city's boundary line on the east; thence southerly along said easterly boundary line to a point where Pacific Avenue , if extended, intersects said eastern boun- dary line ; thence westerly along the center line of Pacific Avenue to a point formed by the intersection of said Pacific Avenue , if extended, to the westerly boundary line of said city; thence northerly along said western boundary line to -1-
