The response stating that the whole house ventilation system has been removed is not <br /> sufficient. The Basement Plan on Sheet A3 requires a the whole house ventilation system. See <br /> Sections R303.4 and M1505.4.1. The following comments should be addressed. <br /> a. The specific system components and performance requirements should be specified. <br /> b. The system should be located in a central area that is open unobstructed air flow <br /> Alternatively, provide ducting to each room per Section M1505.4.1.1, and specify testing to <br /> verify air flow rates per Section M1505.4.1.6. <br /> c. The system should specify a maximum sound rating of 1.0 sones. <br /> Structural <br /> 1. This comment has not been addressed. The proposed project includes structural work, <br /> including but not limited to modifying the exterior wall for the basement egress window, and <br /> modifying the basement stairway and associated building structure. Structural drawing should <br /> be submitted that include framing plans, sections, details, construction schedules, fastening <br /> schedules, materials requirements, general notes, special inspection requirements, etc. The <br /> drawings should substantiate compliance with the prescriptive requirements of the IRC. See <br /> Sections R106.1.1 and R301.1. <br /> 2. This comment has not been addressed. The project may involve structural modifications that <br /> do not comply with the prescriptive limitations of the IRC. Where a structural design is <br /> performed per Section R301.1.3, structural drawings and calculations should be prepared by a <br /> professional engineer licensed in the state of Washington; the drawings and calculations should <br /> bear the seal and signature of the engineer. See RCW Sections 18.43.010, 18.43.020, and <br /> 18.43.070. <br /> This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br /> amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br /> during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br /> requirements.
