PP 40 ORDINANCE No. 2583 An Ordinance providing for the licensing for revenue and for regulation of the sale of Federal legalized beer and wine within the City of Everett , providing rules and regulations therefor and penalties for the violation thereof, repealing Ordinance No. 2580 and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here- with, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: - DEFINITIONS. Section 1: As used in this Ordinance, (a) The words "beer and/or wine" shall be taken and construed to mean and include beer and/or wine containing not more than 3.2 per cent of alcohol by weight or 4 per cent by volume as legalized by the Federal government. (b) A "wholesaler" means an individtal, firm or corporation who wholesales beer and/or wine in barrel, keg or case , or in larger quantities. (c) A "beer and/or wine parlor operator" means an individual or individuals catering specially to the sale of beer and/or wine by retailing drinks to the public. (d) "Restaurant retailer" shall be divided intt two classes, (a) and (b) . Class (a) means an individual, firm or corporation sell- ing and serving only bottled beer and/or wine in a regularly operated restaurant. "Class (b) means an individual, firm or corporation sell- ing and serving both draught and bottled beer and/or wine in a regular- ly operated restaurant. (Bottled) (e) "Grocers" and "druggists" may be licensed to sell/beer and wine in quantities not to exceed one case which beverages are not to be consumed upon the premises of the seller. (g) "Hotel" , having 35 rooms or more, may be licensed for the sale of beer and/or wine to be consumed upon the premises. (h) A "social club or fraternal organization" means a place where beer and/or wine is sold or kept for sale only in the club or fraternal rooms to the members of said club or fraternal organization, or their guests, which in no way caters to public patronage. - 1 -
