7 <br /> RULES AND REGULATIONS nOlg L <br /> FOR THE e / <br /> MANAGE ENT OF THE 'WATER WORKS <br /> OF THIS CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINGTON t� < 68 �7, <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2582 <br /> An Ordinance relating to the Municipal Water Supply System of the City <br /> of Everett , providing rules and regulations for the control of said system, <br /> regulating the use of water therefrom, providing for the sale of same, fixing <br /> the price thereof, and providing a method of collecting rates therefor, pro- <br /> viding penalties for violations, and repealing Ordinance No. 1749 and all <br /> other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section I . There is hereby created in the Department of Public Works <br /> of the City of Everett a sub-department to be known as the Water Department. <br /> Section 2. The word "Superintendent" wherever used in this ordinance <br /> shall be held and construed to mean the "Superintendent" of the Water Depart- <br /> ment of the City of Everett , and any act in this ordinance required or auth- <br /> orized to be done by the Superintendent may be done on behalf of the Super- <br /> intendent by an authorized officer or employee of the Water Department. The <br /> word "Person" or "Customer" wherever used in this ordinance shall be held to <br /> mean and include persons of either sex, associations, co-partnerships, and <br /> corporations, whether acting by themselves or by a servant, agent or employee, <br /> the singular number shall be held and construed to include the plural and <br /> the masculine pronoun to include the feminine . <br /> Section 3. The Superintendent of the Water Department shall be exper- <br /> ienced in the management and operation of water and hydraulic systems and <br /> shall have in his charge and under his control , subject to the commissioner <br /> of Public Works, the management, maintenance and operation of the Water De- <br /> partment of the City of Everett, including the Sultan River Water Supply <br /> System and all auxiliary pumping apparatus, reservoirs, pipes and of all <br /> persons employed thereon, and of all construction work undertaken by the <br /> City in connection with said water system. <br /> -1- <br />
