r r <br /> No license shall be issued for a permit to sell beer or wine in a hotel hav- <br /> ing less than 35 rooms . The number of licenses issued to beer and wine par- <br /> lors in the city of Everett shall not exceed twelve (12) . <br /> Persons Disqualifying and Prohibited Locations <br /> Section 4. No beer and wine containing not more than 3 .2 per centum of <br /> alcohol by weight or Federal legalized beer or wine license shall be granted, <br /> either by original issue or transfer, to the following persons: Persons not a <br /> citizen. of the United States or any person who is not of good , moral character, <br /> or to any person to sell at a place within four hundred (400) feet of a block <br /> on. which a public school house is situated, distance to be measured by estab- <br /> lished street lines, nor on the same side of a street in any block on which a <br /> church is situated . There shall be not more than one beer parlor located in <br /> any one city block; nor in any block where a majority of property owners, or a <br /> majority of the residents and occupants of said block object before the license <br /> is granted to a beer parlor in said block. No retail beer and wine containing <br /> not more than 3.2 per century of alcohol by weight or Federal legalized beer or <br /> wine license shall be granted to any corporation or copartnership, nor to any <br /> association of persons, but the same may be granted to an individual member or <br /> members of a corporation or copartnership. No wholesale distributor or jobber's <br /> beer and wine containing not more than 3 .2 per centum of alcohol by weight or <br /> Federal legalized beer er wine license shall be granted to any corporation, if <br /> any of its officers or stockholders are within any of the prohibited classes <br /> mentioned herein, nor to a grocer, druggist, restaurant owner, hotel proprietor <br /> or manager, if within any of the prohibited classes . <br /> Applications for Licenses <br /> Section. 5. Any person desiring a license under the provisions of this ordi- <br /> nance shall file with the City Clerk in the City of Everett an application. there- <br /> for in writing, which application. shall state by street and number the room where <br /> the proposed business is to be conducted . Said application shall contain under <br /> oath of the applicant the correct statement showing where the applicant has re- <br /> sided for the last five years and what business he has been engaged in during <br /> such a period. Any application. for such beer and wine containing not more than <br /> 3.2 per century of alcohol by weight or Federal legalized beer or wine license <br /> -2- <br />
