• <br /> shall be granted either by original issue or transfer to the following persons: <br /> Persons not a citizen of the United States, or any person who is not of good, <br /> moral character, or to any person to sell at a place within four hundred (400) <br /> feet of a block on which a public school house is located or on the same side <br /> of street in any block on which a church is situated, said distance to be mea- <br /> sured by established street lines, and there shall be not more than one beer <br /> parlor located in any one city block; or in any block where a majority of prop- <br /> erty owners, or a majority of the residents and occupants of said block object, <br /> before the license is granted to a beer parlor in said block. No retail 3.270 <br /> beer and wine or Federal legalized beer and wine license shall be granted to <br /> any corporation or copartnership, or any association of persons, but the same <br /> may be granted to an individual member or members of a corporation or copartner- <br /> ship. No wholesale distributor or jobber's 3.270 beer and wine or Federal legal- <br /> ized beer and wine license shall be granted to any corporation if any of its of- <br /> ficers or stock holders are within any of the prohibited classes mentioned in <br /> this section, nor to a grocer, druggist, restaurant owner or hotel management, <br /> if within said prohibited classes. <br /> HOLLERS OF GOVERNMENT ENT LICENSES <br /> Section 5: Any person in whose name a government license is issued for the <br /> sale of 3.21r, beer and wine or Federal legalized beer and wine in the City of Ev- <br /> erett shall be deemed to be engaged in the sale of 3.27. beer and wine or Federal <br /> legalized beer and wine in said City, and said Government license shall be con- <br /> clusive evidence thereof, within the meaning of this Ordinance . <br /> APPLICATIONS FOP LICENSES <br /> Section 6: Any person desiring a license under the provisions of this ordi- <br /> nance shall file with the City Clerk in the City of Everett an application there- <br /> for in writing, which application shall state by street and number the room where <br /> the proposed business is to be conducted. Said application shall contain under <br /> oath of the applicant, the correct statement showing where the applicant has resided <br /> for the five years last past and what business he has been engaged in during such a <br /> period. Any application for such 34 beer and wine or Federal legalized beer and <br /> wine license shall be filed at least 5 days before the Council can take any action <br /> upon same, and notice of such application shall be given to the public by the city <br /> Clerk, by publishing notice thereof, at least once, in the official city newspaper. <br /> -2- <br />
