<br /> AN ORDINANCE granting for a period of Twenty-five (25) years
<br /> to the WEST COST TFTEPHONP COMPANY, its successors and assigns,
<br /> the right, privilege and authority to do a general telephone and
<br /> telegraph business within the City of ',.verett, to continue to
<br /> maintain, operate and to extend its present telephone and tele-
<br /> graph system, and to place, erect , lay, maintain, operte ,
<br /> repair, remove or replace in, upon or under the streets, alleys,
<br /> public highways and public grounds of the City of verett, poles,
<br /> conduits, wires, cables and other facilities for the trans-
<br /> mission of electricity for telephone and telegraph purposes.
<br /> THE CITY OF TIVP. TT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1: That there be , and hereby is granted upon
<br /> the considerations and conditions in this Ordinance contained, 1
<br /> to the WEST COAST TELEPHONE COMANY, a corporation, organized
<br /> and existing under the laws of the State of Washington, its

<br /> successors and assigns, for the period of Tweaty-Alte (25) years
<br /> from and after the effective date of this ordinance , the right,
<br /> privilege and authority to construct, install, replace , extend,
<br /> maintain and operate a general telephone anu telegraph system
<br /> and facilities therefor, within the City of Iverett, and place ,
<br /> erect, lay, maintain and replace in, upon, along and under all
<br /> of the streets, alleys and other public highways of said City,
<br /> poles, conduits, wires, cables and other facilities for the
<br /> conduct and operation of a ;eneral telephone and telegraph
<br /> business and the transmission of electricity therefor;
<br /> j?ROVI'YED, that whenever the grantee shall, after the
<br /> effective date of this Ordinance, erect any new poles, all such
<br /> poles shall be erected in the public alleys in the City of
<br /> verett, and not upon the . ublic streets or highways, i'ROVI:)ED
<br /> that when required by public convenience or necessity, or the
<br /> absence of alleys, such poles may be erected upon public street,
