If satisfied that a li- <br /> cense should be issued to the applicant, said Commissioner shall introduce a reso- <br /> lution before the City Uouncil, permitting the granting of such license, and au- <br /> thorizing the City ;lerk to issue a license, upon the adoption of the resolution, <br /> after payment of fee, by applicant. <br /> Section 6: No "Druggist License for the Sale of Intoxicating Liquors" shall <br /> be issued to any applicant who shall not have presented to the City Council satis- <br /> factory evidence that such applicant has complied with the requirements of and has <br /> been issued a "Druggist Permit" in accordance with the provisions of the prohibition <br /> laws of the United States in force at the time of applying for a license herein. <br /> Section 7; It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or in any manner to <br /> dispose of or keep for sale or to have in his or her possession or to transport any <br /> alcoholic beverages or intoxicating liquors in the City of Everett not had or ob- <br /> tained in pursuance to and in accordance with the national prohibition laws of the <br /> United States of America; provided that nothing herein contained shall be construed <br /> to prevent or prohibit the sale, ownership or use of intoxicating liquors or alco- <br /> holic beverages not in conflict with the said national prohibition laws of the <br /> United States of America. <br /> Section 8: That Ordinances No. 1775, 1847 and 2562 be and the same hereby are <br /> repealed and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in Conflict herewith are <br /> likewise repealed. <br /> Section 9: Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance <br /> shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300 .00 or by im- <br /> prisonment not to exceed 90 days in the City Jail or by both such fine and im- <br /> prisonment . <br /> Section 10: An emergency is hereby declared to exist and it is necessary <br /> for the protection and preservation of the public morals, health, peace and good <br /> order of the City of Everett that this ordinance take effect immediately and this <br /> ordinance shall be in full farce and effect immediately upon its passage and <br /> publication. <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: Dec. 21st, 1932. <br /> Published: Dec. 22nd, 1932. <br /> -2- <br />
