If satisfied that a li- cense should be issued to the applicant, said Commissioner shall introduce a reso- lution before the City Uouncil, permitting the granting of such license, and au- thorizing the City ;lerk to issue a license, upon the adoption of the resolution, after payment of fee, by applicant. Section 6: No "Druggist License for the Sale of Intoxicating Liquors" shall be issued to any applicant who shall not have presented to the City Council satis- factory evidence that such applicant has complied with the requirements of and has been issued a "Druggist Permit" in accordance with the provisions of the prohibition laws of the United States in force at the time of applying for a license herein. Section 7; It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or in any manner to dispose of or keep for sale or to have in his or her possession or to transport any alcoholic beverages or intoxicating liquors in the City of Everett not had or ob- tained in pursuance to and in accordance with the national prohibition laws of the United States of America; provided that nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent or prohibit the sale, ownership or use of intoxicating liquors or alco- holic beverages not in conflict with the said national prohibition laws of the United States of America. Section 8: That Ordinances No. 1775, 1847 and 2562 be and the same hereby are repealed and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in Conflict herewith are likewise repealed. Section 9: Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not to exceed $300 .00 or by im- prisonment not to exceed 90 days in the City Jail or by both such fine and im- prisonment . Section 10: An emergency is hereby declared to exist and it is necessary for the protection and preservation of the public morals, health, peace and good order of the City of Everett that this ordinance take effect immediately and this ordinance shall be in full farce and effect immediately upon its passage and publication.
