ORDINANCE No. 2562. An Ordinance relating to , and providing for, the licensing and regulating of the occupation of retail druggist in the City of Everett, in the business of filling prescriptions for intoxi- cating liquors , providing for the sale, possession and use of intoxicating liquors, repealing Ordinances No. 1775 and No. 1847 , and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict there- with, providing a penalty for the violation of the provisions herewith, and declaring an emergency. TIE CITY OF EVEP.ETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: The license provided for herein shall be for the purpose of raising revenue or for the purpose of regulati n or for a combined purpose of regulation and raising revenue . Section 3: The s "int icating liquors" wherever used in this ordi- nance shall be held and construed to include whiskey, brandy, gin, rum, ale, wine , beer, and any spirituous , vinous , fermented or malt liquor or liquid containing intoxicating properties which is capable of being used as a beverage . Section 4: It shall be unlawful for any person engaged in the occupation, business or profession of druggist or pharmacist ;in the City of Everett to fill a prescription- for intoxicating liquors or to sell any spirituous, vinous , fer- mented or malt liquor or liquid containing intoxicating properties which is cap- able of being used as a beverage, unless such person shall, on or before Decem- ber 31st, 1932, and on or before the 1st day of January of each succeeding year thereafter, first apply for and secure from the City Council of said City , a license permit to be known as a "Druggist License for the sale of Intoxicating Liquors". The fee for the said license shall be the sum of a per annum. Section 5: Any person desiring to procure such a license named herein -1-
