CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />Beverly Lake Water Quality Retrofit Division 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS August 2023 <br />WO No – UP3745 SP – 154 <br />Proof Rolling: Proof roll subgrade under the roadway with a fully loaded tandem <br />truck following trench backfilling and grading to subgrade to identify soft or loose <br />areas in the subgrade. In areas where the subgrade does not stand up to the proof <br />roll, over excavate the subgrade and replace with imported Foundation Material <br />Class A or B or Gravel Borrow, as determined by the Engineer, to bring the subgrade <br />up to the proper compaction and grade. Compact backfill material in accordance <br />with 2-03.3(3). <br />2-03.3(7) Disposal of Surplus Material <br />2-03.3(7)C Contractor-Provided Disposal Site <br />Delete the first paragraph of 2-03.3(7)C and substitute the following: <br />Make arrangements for disposal of surplus and other materials. All costs for <br />disposal of surplus and other materials shall be included with the respective <br />Bid items of the Contract with no direct compensation being made. <br />Dispose of Asbestos-cement pipe in accordance with the requirements of the <br />State of Washington Department of Ecology and the Snohomish County Solid <br />Waste Division. <br />2-03.4 Measurement <br />Delete all paragraphs under 2-03.4 and substitute the following: <br />Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br />described in Division B - Bid Items Descriptions and provided in Section 1-09 <br />MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br />2-03.5 Payment <br />Delete all paragraphs under 2-03.5 and substitute the following: <br />Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br />as described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and <br />Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br />There will be no direct compensation made for haul on material moved within or from <br />the Project site and the Contractor shall include the cost of hauling in his various unit <br />contract prices. <br />There will be no direct compensation made for “Proof Rolling” as required in this section <br />for excavated portions of the roadway and the Contractor shall include costs in his <br />various unit Contract prices. <br />Payment for over excavation below subgrade and disposal of over excavated materials <br />as required in this section shall be included in the Bid item for Foundation Material. <br />Imported material required in this section shall be paid for by the unit Bid price for that <br />material. Payment for placement and compaction of import material shall be included in <br />the unit price per ton of import material. <br />2-04 HAUL <br />2-04.1 Description <br />Delete the first paragraph of 2-04.1 and substitute the following: <br />This Work shall consist of transporting excavated material from its original site to its final <br />place on the Project or to a Contractor arranged waste site. <br />2-04.3 Vacant <br />Revise 2-04.3 to read as follows:
