CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />Beverly Lake Water Quality Retrofit Division 1 – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS August 2023 <br />WO No – UP3745 SP – 157 <br />2-09.3(3)B Excavation Using Open Pits – Extra Excavation <br />Revise the sixth paragraph to read as follows: <br />Submittals and Design Requirements – The Contractor shall submit Type 3E <br />Working Drawings with supporting calculations showing the geometry and <br />construction sequencing of the proposed excavation slopes. <br />2-09.3(3)D Shoring and Cofferdams <br />Revise the fifth paragraph to read as follows: <br />Submittals and Design Requirements – The Contractor shall submit Type 3E <br />Working Drawings with supporting calculations showing the proposed methods <br />and construction details of structural shoring or cofferdams in accordance with <br />Sections 1-05.3 and 6-02.3(16). <br />2-09.4 Measurement <br />Delete all paragraphs in 2-09.4 and substitute the following: <br />Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br />described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section <br />1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br />2-09.5 Payment <br />Delete all paragraphs in 2-09.5 and substitute the following: <br />Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br />as described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and <br />Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br />When there is no bid item for “Structure Excavation” in the Proposal, all Work in this <br />section shall be included with the respective Bid Items of the Contract with no direct <br />compensation made. <br />2-11 TRIMMING AND CLEANUP <br />2-11.3 Construction Requirements <br />Supplement 2-11.3 by adding the following after item 6: <br />(a) 7. Keep City streets clean and free from mud, dirt and other debris. <br />Further supplement 2-11.3 by adding the following: <br />Keep the Project site in a neat and orderly condition during the process of construction <br />with as little disruption to the adjoining properties as practical under the conditions. <br />Promptly and as often as needed cleanup debris resulting from Contractor’s operations <br />from drainage facilities such as inlets, catch basins, culverts and open ditches. <br />Remove and dispose of all construction stakes. <br />Upon Project completion, clean Project area and neatly dress slopes to present a <br />uniform appearance blending into the contour of adjacent properties. Remove trash of <br />all kinds resulting from construction operations. <br />2-11.4 Vacant <br />Revise 2-11.4 to read as follows: <br />2-11.4 Measurement <br />Delete all paragraphs in 2-11.4 and substitute the following: <br />Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br />described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section <br />1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications.
