any goods, wares or merchandise previously inventoried and licensed, shall be <br /> deemed to be an application for a renewal under Section 5 of this Ordinance whe- <br /> ther presented by the original applicant or by any other person. <br /> Section 6. The Clerk shall file such applications and shall endorse on <br /> each application the date a license is granted or refused. <br /> Section 7. It shall be unlawful to make a false statement in any such <br /> application. <br /> Section 8. The license shall be valid only for the inventoried goods. <br /> Additions to such inventory shall cause the merchandise inventoried to lose <br /> its identity as distressed goods, and any such license issued shall cease to <br /> apply to the sale of such goods. <br /> Section 9. No person securing a license shall secure goods for the pur- <br /> pose of selling at such a sale and any unusual purchase or additions to stocks <br /> within sixty days prior to application for a license shall be presumptive evidence <br /> that such addition was made for the purpose of selling at such sale. <br /> Section 10. No person operating under such a license shall add any goods. <br /> to the inventoried stock and no goods shall be sold except that included in the <br /> original inventory. Each sale of goods not so inventoried shall constitute a <br /> separate offense under this Ordinance. <br /> Section 11. This Ordinance shall not apply to public or court officers <br /> or to any person acting under the direction of state or federal courts in the <br /> course of their official duties. <br /> Section 12. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance, <br /> and being convicted thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding 4300.00 <br /> or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period not exceeding ninety days, or <br /> both, in the discretion of the Court. <br /> Section 13. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance <br /> shall take effect immediately upon its pawsage and publication. <br /> Mayor <br /> Passed <br /> Feb. 10th, 1932. <br /> Attest: 71L <br /> City Clerk <br /> Published: February llth, 1932. <br />
