Ms. Chang has asked me (Mike Morrison, 360-220-8900) to answer a letter sent to her from the
Everett AHJ (Planning Department).
I am resending the same document that was created back in December 2021 when this letter
from Drew was first received by Ms. Chang. I guess it was misplaced back then.
Additionally, it was soon after this response letter that I was able to speak with Drew, directly,
by phone. At his direction, a revised plan was created and submitted to identify areas to
expose where new, unpermitted construction has occurred. Much of the comments below
were addressed and mitigated in the phone call and on the modified plan.
Original message starts below:
Hi Drew,
Thanks for your review and comments regarding this project.
• City of Everett Permit Services: 2817 Medora Way (B2110-052) - First building Intake
Review
Since work was done un-permitted, the big questions are, what exactly was done and covered
up and what areas are existing and untouched.
I'm working with the homeowner to try and develop plans that capture the information
required to bring the new work done in her home and any pre-existing systems that may have
been altered, into compliance with all relevant building codes.
I'm open to all suggestions in completing this goal.
I performed an as -built to identify the 2018 IRC violations. My plan was more focused on being
a tool to use between the owner, builder, and permit office to develop a way ahead. There
needs to be a list developed of everything that needs to be inspected and corrected and then I
can create documentation (plans) for permit submission. As it stands now, without permit
office input, we are shooting blind in guessing what you will want identified.
A brief protect history
When I was contacted by the homeowner's general contractor, a request was made to perform
an as -built of the structure to ID IRC errors (since the work was stopped for being done un-
permitted). The plans were created and also a Matterport 3D scan of the interior of the
structure was completed. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=zyDT830,zlrs&brand=0
