Exhibit A (Scope of Work)
SCOPE OF WORK
GeoEngineers, Inc. (GeoEngineers) appreciates the opportunity to provide
hydrogeologic services for the Edgewater Park property located at 3731 Mukilteo
Boulevard in Everett, Washington. Hydrogeologic services include completing
infiltration testing at the site, preparing an infiltration evaluation report, and providing
consultation for the project. The scope of services is presented below.
Task 100. Pilot Infiltration Testing
1.Review sections of the 2019 Washington State Department of
Ecology Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington
(SWMMWW) pertaining to infiltration testing and design
requirements.
2.Complete three small-scale pilot infiltration tests (PITs) in general
accordance with the 2019 SWMMWW. The PITs will be completed
with the assistance of an excavation contractor under subcontract to
GeoEngineers who will excavate the test pits for the PITs. Water for
the tests will be provided by the excavation contractor using water
totes. The excavation subcontractor will provide hosing to run water
from the totes to the PIT locations. The PITs will also be observed by
an engineer or geologist from our firm who will log the subsurface
conditions and conduct the testing. The following tasks and
assumptions are included in this scope item:
+ Review available survey for the site.
+ Work with the City of Everett to mark the test pit locations,
coordinate schedule, access, and right-of-entry.
+ Locate and clear existing utilities within the PIT areas. We will
initiate an underground utility location check, which will require a ½
day site visit and at least 3 days prior to excavation. We will also
subcontract a private utility locating service.
+ Excavate three test pit excavations to observe subsurface
conditions within the proposed infiltration areas and collect
representative soil samples for laboratory testing.
+ Complete three PITs at the project site within the proposed
infiltration areas. The infiltration test locations have been provided by
the City of Everett. Recommended testing depths are 3 to 4 feet with
over-excavation to a depth of up to 6 feet. The purpose of the PITs is
to evaluate infiltration potential and develop design infiltration rates.
We estimate that the testing will require one field staff and 2 days to
complete the excavation, testing, and backfilling. W e propose to
complete the two PITs located on the eastern portion of the site at
the same time in 1 day.
+ Backfill the PIT test pits with material removed from the test pits
and tamping the soil in place with the excavator bucket. We will
