Inline filter for dirty and harsh environments
Maintenance
All VESDA smoke detectors & should be reviewed and serviced in accordance with the recommended
maintenance schedule, detailed in Service note:002/05-Recommended frequency of VESDA Filter
Cartridge Replacement & Detector Maintenance (available on www.vision-fs.com) as a minimum
requirement. Maintenance of the inline filter should be performed at the same time as detector
maintenance. Follow the steps below to maintain the inline filter:
1. Wash and dry the foam filter elements thoroughly to maintain a certain degree of filter efficiency.
The foam filter elements should be replaced at least every third maintenance period.
2. After equipment installation and when the foam filter elements are replaced, smoke tests must be
performed to ensure system performance (e.g. transport time) is maintained.
3. Record all site maintenance data as per local code and standard requirements.
Note Monitoring airflow should not be used as an indication of the filter loading. As airflow decreases due to
filter loading, smoke detection capability will have already been compromised.
Ordering Information
To order parts, please order the following part numbers from your local distributor of VESDA products.
Description Part number
Inline filter with metric pipe fittings: E700-FILASSYA0000
Inline filter with imperial pipe fittings: IMP-E700FILASSY.
Replacement Foam Filter Elements for the inline filter: FIL-FOAM.
Further Support
Contact your local Vision Systems office for further information.
