September 27, 2023 <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />City Council, staff, and the public attendance congratulated Chief Templeman with a standing <br />ovation. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Council received two (2) written comments and the following members of the public spoke: <br />Charles Burgess, Jeramy Olson, Sam Hem, Bryan Johnson, Fidencio Velasco, and Ethan Pfahl. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Council Members Tuohy and Schwab, who both serve on the PLA task force, provided comments <br />related to the ongoing task force ordinance development. <br /> <br />Comments and liaison reports were provided by council members. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Government Affairs Director Jennifer Gregerson stated that she provided Council with <br />firefighting hiring information including history of staffing levels, Administration will be working <br />on Zoom emergency protocols to prevent disruptions, participation in the Week Without Driving <br />event with Mayor Franklin and other City staff that is occurring next week, and follow-up with <br />Council questions that were provided during Council comments. <br /> <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />City Attorney David Hall had no updates, but congratulated Police Chief Templeman on his <br />retirement. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Zarlingo, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, to approve the <br />following consent items: <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - CLAIMS <br />
