GeoTest Services, Inc. September 6, 2019
Proposed Swimming Pool — 954 North Park Drive, Everett, WA Project No. 19-0361
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF SERVICES
The purpose of this evaluation is to review the critical areas that are present on and/or adjacent
to the subject property. Our scope of services includes the following tasks:
• Review readily available geologic and soils information.
• Perform a visual site reconnaissance of the proposed development site and immediate
vicinity to observe existing site topographic and geologic conditions.
• Explore soil and groundwater conditions underlying the site by advancing two hand-
augered test holes and Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) explorations to evaluate
subsurface conditions.
• Perform laboratory testing on representative samples to classify and evaluate the
engineering characteristics of the soils encountered.
• Provide a written report including a description of subsurface conditions, exploration logs,
and an evaluation of critical areas and mitigation recommendations per the City of Everett
Municipal Code (EMC) Section 19.37.080.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The proposed construction will of a new swimming pool in the backyard of the existing residence
located at 954 North Park Drive in Everett, Washington. Based on discussions with Mr. Bjorg,
GTS understands that the proposed swimming pool will be located directly north of the existing
residence. Concrete steps will be constructed at the edge of the existing concrete patio and lead
down to the pool area. GTS expects that the pool will be relatively small in size, although no
information regarding the pool size and configuration was made available to GTS at the time that
this report was written. GTS also understands that the existing steep slopes to the east and west
of the proposed pool will not be altered.
SITE CONDITIONS
This section includes a description of the proposed construction and general surface and
subsurface conditions observed at the project site during the time of our field investigation.
Interpretations of site conditions are based on the results and review of available information,
site reconnaissance, subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, and previous experience in the
project vicinity.
1
