r Provided, however, that no such permit shall be granted until the the applicant shall have deposited with the City Clerk, the 13um of ten dollars ( 10.00) in cases where a wooden sidewalk, and twenty- five dollars (42b.00) in cases. where a cement sidewalk runs along that portion of the street to be occupied, as further security for the immediate restoration of such talk to as good a condition as the same was before the granting of said permit. Such deposits shall be kept by said Clerk, until a written statement shall have been filed, signed by the Street superintendent, certifying that such walk has been so restored. Secti :�i .. . No person having or obtaining a permit as herein provided shall place any obstruction to the free Passage of water in any gutter of any street, avenue, or alley or within three feet therefrom, or so place any material that the same is liable to be washed into any gutter by rain; provided, however, that th , City Council may grant written permits to builders and contractors for their convenience to place temporary bridges over any gutter, suf- ficient for the free passage/thereunder of all surface water. Each and every twenty-four hours that such materials or huildings shall be permitted to remain or be in any such street, avenue, alley or other public place aithoi;.t the permit of license herein required, shall be deemed a separate offense under this ordinance.
