propelled vehicle by or upon which any person or persons may be trans- ported or carried upon any public highway, street or alley, excepting vehicles used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. Section. 1 It shall be unlawful to operate any Motor Vehicle for hire, including taxi-cabs, for-hire care, over or upon or along any of the streets or alleys of the city of Everett, without having procured a license and license plates from the city clerk, first having made pay- ment to the city Treasurer, on the following basis, for one year: Automobiles for hire or taxi-cabs: Weight 1500 lbs. or less, 410.00, plusL54 per person, of the rated carrying capacity of the vE,hicle. Weight 1500 lbs. or over 4610.00, plus 20¢ per CWT. for all excess over 1500 lbs. , and 41.50 per person of the rated carrying capacity of the vehicle . The applicant shall, upon blanks provided for the purpose by the said Clerk, furnish full information concerning ownership; the number and classification of vehicles to be operated; the name fictitious or otherwise, under which the applicant intends to operate; the distinguish- ing color scheme, design, or dress, including any monogram or insignia intended to be used upon the vehicles; and such other information as may be deemed necessary for proper supervision and the public good. If it shall appear from the information obtained that the applicant is a reliable and bona fide owner and has met all of the requirements of this ordinance, that the name under which he is to operate and the color scheme used upon the vehicles does not conflict with others and tend to deceive the public, that the vehicles are equipped. with valid lifienses, and that they are property bonded for the protection ofthe public as required by the motor vehicle laws of the State of Washington, a permit-, shall be issued. No permit shall be issued authorizing interchange of taxi-cab, for-hire car and sight-seeing car classification, but transfer of licenses to replacement in the same classification may be granted upon application; said transfer or transfers to replace cars in the same /S/
