DArCES: DACE SCHOOLS DArOE FLOORS: Section : As used in this Ordinance, The term "Public Dance" shall be construed to mean any dance or ball to which the public generally may gain admis- sion with or without the payment of an admission fee; The term "Dance hall" shall be construed to mean any room, hall, pavilion or other place kept or used for the purpose of carrying on public dances or dancing; The term "Dancing school" shall be construed to mean any hall, room, pavilion or other place in which lessons in dancing are given or dancing taught to individuals or in clas- see; The term "Dancing master" shall be construed to mean any person who, whether as owner, manager, attendant or other employee, teaches or assists in teaching the art of dancing in any danc- ing school or dance hail. Section/0Z: Io person, association, co-partnership or corporation shall hold, any public dance without first obtain- ing a permit from the Commissioner of Safety and a license from the city oleic following the payment to the city treasurer of 2.50,license fee for each such permit and license granted;, nor shall any person, association, co-partnership or corporation conduct or maintain any dance halls or dancing schools or any other place where dancing is conducted as herein provided without first procurring permission so to do from the city clerk. Li- cense for dance halls, dancing schools or any place where danc- ing is carried on, except as herein provided,shall be issued by the year by the city 4erk. Section/ , The license fee or tax for public-dance • halls shall be as follows: If the floor space to be actually used for dancing does not exceed 2500 square feet, $15,00 per year, payable in advance. , )71
