• <br /> at all times be kept in a clean, healthful and sanitary condition, <br /> and, all stairways, halls, passages and rooms connected with such <br /> dance-halls shall be kept open and well lighted . <br /> After sunset every such dance-hall shall be lighted or <br /> illuminated by either gas or electricity, or other means, in <br /> such manner and to such an extent as i2 usual or customary of <br /> like dimensions in the night time for public assemblies, before <br /> any person is admitted thereto and before any dance or dancing <br /> is commenced therein; provided, however, that the intensity of <br /> such lighting or illumination shall at no time be less than <br /> one foot candle at a plane of three feet above the floor of such <br /> hall at all parts; such lighting or illumination shall be main- <br /> tained thereafter throughout the entire time while such dance <br /> or dancing is in progress, and during any recess or other inter- <br /> mission, without dimunition and without interruption until such <br /> dance is concluded, and until such hail is cleared and closed, <br /> and no "dimmers" or other like devices shall be permitted. Pub- <br /> lic dances shall not be held, or dance-halls or dancing-schools <br /> opened for instruction or entertainment on Sunday. No public <br /> dances, dance-halls, or dancing-schools shall be conducted later <br /> than 12 o' clock P. M. ; but the Commissioner of Public Safety shall <br /> have authority to issue special permits to conduct public dances <br /> to a later hour, to be determined by him. No person under the <br /> age .of eighteen years shall be permitted to attcnd any public <br /> dafice without the escort of his or her parent or guardian. Any <br /> pextson under the age of eighteen, who shall, by affirmative mis- <br /> representation of age, obtain admission to, or permission to re- <br /> main in, any publi dance, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> Section / : No person, association, co-partnership <br /> or corporation operating or conducting a public dance, shall is- <br /> sue to any patron of such public dance any check, pass, ticket <br /> or other token authorizing such patron to leave the public dan- <br /> ce hall in which such public dance is being conducted and to re- <br /> 5 6 <br /> -- - <br />
