STATE OF WASHINGTOTT <br /> County of Snohomish se <br /> being first duly sworn upon oath, <br /> deposes and says: I am the above named applicant, and <br /> make this affidavit for the purpose of obtaining from the City of <br /> Everett a license in accordance with the provisions of <br /> the License Code. I have personal knowledge of the matter stated in <br /> the foregoing application and the statements contained therein are <br /> true. <br /> Subscribed and sworn to before me this day of 19_..._ <br /> Notary Public in and for the State <br /> of Washington, residing at Everett. <br /> All applications for licenses under the provisions of this <br /> ordinance shall be filed with the City Clerk, except applications for <br /> the following licenses, which shall be filed with the City Council. <br /> (1) Billiard and Pool'`Table Licenses. <br /> (2) Card Room Licenses. <br /> (3) Dance Hall Licenses. <br /> (4) Employment Agency Licenses. <br /> Section 12 t Tie City Council upon presentation of any <br /> application for any of the licenses specified in Section 11 of, this <br /> ordinance, and before acting upon the same, shall request the <br /> Chief of Police to make a full investigation as to the truth of the <br /> statements contained therein, and as to any and all. other matters which <br /> might tend to aid the City Council in determining whether or not such <br /> application should be granted. <br /> The Chief of Police shall, within five (5) days after the date <br /> of such notice and request, furnish a written report to the City <br /> Council containing the result of his investigation; provided, how- <br /> ever, that all matters pertaining to an application for a dance <br /> Hall License shall be referred by the Chief of Police to the Police <br /> Woman for investigations and report. <br /> If the City Council be satisfied that the statements contained in <br /> such application are true, that the applicant and all persons con- <br /> nected With the business for which a license has been applied for <br /> are of good moral character, and that the premises described in the <br /> application comply with the requirements of the ordinances of the <br /> City of Everett relating to buildings and health and sanitation, <br /> and when all other requirements relating to the business for which <br /> a license has been applied for have been complied with,' the City •Council, <br /> shall, direct the City Clerk to issue the license applied for in con- <br /> formity with the provisions of this ordinance; provided, ho , ever, that <br /> no such license shall be granted in the event that the applicant <br /> (if a corporation, any of its officers) has ever been convicted of a <br /> felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude or an intent to <br /> defraud or in the event that the applicant has been convicted of a <br /> violation of the ordinances of the City of Everett, the laws of the <br /> State of Washington, or the United States pertaining to the manufacture, <br /> keeping, use or transportation of intoxicating liquor or in the event <br /> that the City Council has good reason to believe that such persons are <br /> not of good moral character, or that such persons desire such license <br /> to enable them to engage in some dishonest, unlawful, or immoral act <br /> or practice; 1 <br />
