tools. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.
Large spills Water spray or vapor suppressing foam may be used to reduce vapors, but may
not prevent ignition in closed spaces. Dike far ahead of spill for later disposal.
Spill or Release data Carefully contain and stop the source of the spill, if safe to do so.
Precautionary Measures Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter
drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
Section 7. Handling and Storage
Personal Precautions Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing
General Information
Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Handling
Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (see Section 8). Ensure
adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Pay attention to
flashback. No smoking, open flames, or sources of ignition in handling and
storage area. A static spark discharge can ignite accumulated vapors
particularly during dry weather conditions. Always use proper bonding and
grounding procedures. Use spark -proof tools and explosion -proof equipment.
Ground and bond containers when transferring material. Do not breathe
gas/fumes/vapor/spray. Do not ingest. Do not eat, drink, or smoke in the work
area. Use good industrial hygiene practices in handling this material. Keep away
from oxidizing agents.
Storage
Keep separated from incompatible substances (see below or section 10 of the
SDS). Keep container tightly closed in a dry, well -ventilated place. Store at room
temperature in the original container. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep
away from heat, sparks, and flame. Store in a segregated and approved area.
Store away from incompatible materials.
Section 8. Facilities storing or
utilizing this material should be equipped with an eyewash facility and a safety
shower. High standards of skin care and personal hygiene should be exercised
at all times.
Hand Protection
Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove
removal technique (without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact
with this product. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with
applicable laws and good laboratort practices. Wash and dry hands.
Body Protection
Apron and long sleeves are recommended. Use body protection appropriate for
task. Cover -all, rubber aprons, or chemical protective clothing made from
impervious materials are generally acceptable, depending on the task.
Eyes
Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles) .
Respirators
A NIOSH-approved air purifying respirator with an organic vapor cartridge or
canister. Protection provided by air purifying respirators is limited. Use a
positive -pressure air -supplied respirator if there is any potential for an
uncontrolled release, exposure levels are not known, or any other circumstances
where air -purifying respirators may not provide adequate protection.
Hygeine
Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products,
before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working
Page 4 of 7
