October 25, 2023 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., October 25, <br />2023, by President Stonecipher. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin, and Council Members Zarlingo, Vogeli, Fosse, <br />Tuohy, Schwab, Rhyne, and President Stonecipher were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Schwab read the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />The minutes of the October 18, 2023 meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin provided comments on the Project Labor Agreement (PLA) Ordinance, escalating <br />methamphetamine and fentanyl crisis and a new development of an interagency task force to <br />address that crisis, the unveiling of Dan Rocha Way, and recognition of October being Hindu <br />Heritage Awareness Month. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin invited Police Chief Dan Templeman to introduce new police officers. <br /> <br /> OATH – POLICE OFFICERS <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Schwab, to concur with the <br />appointment of Connor Brownette, James Dahl, and Peter Heaukulani, as new Everett Police <br />Officers. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office, and council members congratulated Police <br />Officers Brownette, Dahl, and Heaukulani. <br /> <br />City Council and the Mayor congratulated and thanked Police Chief Dan Templeman on his official <br />retirement. <br /> <br /> <br />
