From: Grace Pollard
To: NANAWELBORNCalYAH00.COM;CORRIESHAIRCa)GMAIL.COM
Subject: B2006-047 2318 HIGHLAND AVE_PLANNING COMMENTS
Date: Monday,October 12,2020 3:31:23 PM
Attachments: imaae001.ona
imaae003.ona
Dear Applicant,
This email is regarding the Planning Division's review of your City of Everett building permit
application to convert an existing detached garage into a detached accessory dwelling unit
(DADU). Please note these comments only pertain to zoning regulations.
1. Please make sure your design of the DADU meets any design requirements found in
EMC 19.07.030 as you indicated they would on your Accessory Dwelling Unit
Checklist;
2. Please call the Planning Division's main office at 425.257.8731 to pay the $560.00 land
use fee or mail a check to City of Everett Planning Division, 2930 Wetmore Avenue,
Suite 8-A, Everett, WA 98201. Your project file number associated with the ADU
Checklist is REVI20-032;
3. My only comment to add to the building division's comments sent on July 30th is
regarding the existing driveway and the three required off-street parking spaces.
Because two (2) off-street parking spaces are required for the single-family residence
and one (1)parking space is required for the detached accessory dwelling unit we will
need to see either the existing driveway expanded to provide for two vehicles parked
side by side or a parking pad must be proposed off the alley. The required parking must
be on an approved parking surface; gravel is not an approved parking surface. To
clarify, tandem formation is okay for the single-family residence on the existing
driveway however the third parking space must be located in such a way where it will
not be blocked in by another vehicle. Please add additional parking to your scope of
work and revise your site plan accordingly.
If you have any questions pertaining to information in this email, please contact me directly.
Thank you,
Grace Pollard
Associate Planner I Planning Division
Community, Planning, and Economic Development Department
425.257.8807 1 2930 Wetmore Avenue, Suite 8A, Everett, WA 98201
everettwa.gov/planning I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure
pursuant to the Public Records Act.
